Olive tree is cultivated since ancient Greek times. For ancient Greeks represented peace, among other virtues and had various healing uses especially for skin problems. During the absence of soap for personal hygiene, they used to apply olive oil on their hair and skin as a cleanser that also provided scent and softness. They also used it on fabric to make their clothes bright.
